framing paintings
I am currently framing my pieces in wood floater frames. They are a black frame in what is essentially an eggshell finish (somewhere between satin and matte), with a 1/4” face and a 1/4” reveal. They are handmade by a family business in California.
For paintings, the frame depth is 2”.
For studies, the frame depth is 1.25”.
Because the reveal allows a partial view of the panel edge, for all framed pieces I am now staining panel edges with an ebony wood stain.
