After Ivey closed its doors in 2008, and I completed my technology Master's in 2009, I lost much of my connection to the artistic community and creative environment that I'd taken for granted for so many years. I continued to make images, but it was different doing it in relative isolation. I remember trying to share my excitement about a new set of images with a technology colleague, and he got that expression that says "don't spook the crazy lady"; after that I was less likely to try to share this enthusiasm.
The thrill of making images still reverberated in me, but I was trying to focus my energy on immersion in my new field. I spent less time pursuing the images that felt like a dead end - no community, no way to get the same kind of high quality prints that I used to make, and no longer a visible field of artistic opportunities.

This group of images have some really exciting moments in them. They are related by strong angular structure and a predominance of blues or blue-greens.
